Mindful that petrol engines are back in fashion and in a big way too, Weston UKís research and development teamís experience and knowledge of high performance engine technology naturally lent itself to the petrol engine. Petrol units are subtly different in their requirements to the glowplug engine.
Petrol engines tend to be larger than glow engines, producing their power at much lower RPM, but often with higher rubbing speeds due to the increased physical size of their components. Burning petrol Ė or gasoline invokes higher temperatures too, so the demands of certain highly stressed components can be greater than the equivalent glowplug device, which is why the commonplace big end bearing on a petrol engine is usually replaced with a needle roller assembly, for example. Petrol engines also need additional cooling in order to maintain a reasonable operating temperature, which is why the fins on the cylinder and head are much more evident and of course, all of the above places great demands on the lubrication qualities of the fuel used. Glowplug engines, at the larger sizes, are now routinely converted to Petrol operation, which taken at face value, simply involves substituting the glowplug for a sparking plug and a suitable ignition system, but the cooling fins on a glow engine are somewhat less than suitable for petrol operation, allied to the lubrication issues surrounding the highly stressed big end bearing. Problems resulting from rubbing and temperature issues manifest themselves if the lubrication of these vital areas isnít optimised. Weston UKís new Petrol lubricant has been formulated for exactly this reason and provides the best solution for all petrol engines, giving great longevity and with that essential clean running for reliability allied to good cooling properties. Your petrol engine will run cooler, and cleaner on Weston UKís new Petrol lubricant!

Specially developed for use with glow motors which have been
converted to petrol without needle or roller bearing conrod. Recommended
mix ratio 8%
(add 360ml to 1 x UK
gallon unleaded petrol)
We can convert RCV motors to run on petrol using the Runtronic Ignition System. We change the carburettor for a modified West carburettor to give better mid-range running on petrol.
